Michael Abowd, MD
Dr. Abowd is a specialist in oculoplastic surgery. In additional to general ophthalmic surgery, he performs the full range of plastic surgery and trauma care for the eye. He trained at Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit and has been with Vision Associates since 2005.

Michelle Ariss, MD
Dr. Ariss received her training at Cleveland Clinic and the Friedenwald Eye Institute in Baltimore. She is Northwest Ohio's first truly comprehensive specialist in pediatric ophthalmology with expertise not only in conventional strabismus problems but also complex pediatric and adult strabismus surgery, pediatric cataract and glaucoma care, and management of congenital eye disease. She coordinates care with pediatric neurologists, pediatricians, primary eye care providers and other specialists, including the Vision Associates Retina Service which is the region's exclusive provider of comprehensive pediatric retinal care. |

John C. Burchfield, MD
Dr. Burchfield is a native of Toledo, and specializes in glaucoma surgery. He has extensive experience with all types of glaucoma care and has received numerous awards for clinical care and teaching.

Qais A. Farjo, MD
Qais Farjo, is a corneal specialist, and is the Director of the LASIK and Keratofractive Center at Vision Associates and the Wildwood Surgery Center. He performs all types of refractive surgery as well as complex cataract and corneal surgery. |

Hooman Harooni, MD
Dr. Harooni is a native of Los Angeles, graduating with honors from UCLA. He received his medical training at the University of Cincinnati, residency training at Medical College of Georgia, and received his cornea fellowship training at The Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Harooni has special expertise in all corneal diseases including the latest techniques in corneal transplantation, endothelial cell transplants, refractive surgery, LASIK, and many other procedures. We are very excited to have Dr. Harooni on board and look forward to introducing him to our corneal patients. |

Kathleen K. Karol, MD
Dr. Karol performs comprehensive eye care and general ophthalmic surgery. In addition to cataract surgery, she also offers care for chronic inflammatory disease.

Dr. Ofori is a comprehensive general ophthalmologist. He
performs eye examinations on adults and children and performs the full

J. Gregory Rosenthal, MD
Dr. Rosenthal specializes in all diseases and surgery of
the retina. He has a special interest in the care of diabetic eye disease,
macular degeneration, and retinopathy of prematurity.

Dr. Sadowski offers comprehensive optometric care at the Bowling Green office. In addition to a full range of primary eye care services, he also specializes in contact lens care.

Michele Schlagheck, OD
Dr. Michele Schlagheck provides comprehensive optometric care. She has a special interest
is in contact lens fitting including patients who have been told that
they were "difficult to fit." Dr. Schlagheck has extensive experience
and success with fitting bifocal and other special design contact lenses.

Jeffery N. Stephens, MD
Dr. Stephens also specializes in medical and surgical care of the retina.
He has extensive training in the care of macular degeneration and diabetes and also offers care of pediatric retinal problems.

Gerald S. Striph, MD
Dr. Striph performs eye examinations and second opinions for patients
of all ages. In addition to routine eye care, he performs "no-stitch
no-shot" cataract and implant surgery as well as eyelid and eye muscle
surgery. Dr. Striph is fellowship-trained in neurologic diseases of the
eye and visual systems.
